1st day of Preschool!!

Skye started preschool this week and she loves every minute of it. She did not cry and I didn't cry but Bree sure did. She was so mad that I wouldn't let her go with her sister. I hope this doesn't mean that I'm heartless and insensitive that I didn't cry!! Anyway, Skye goes to a special education preschool called EMECEC because she needs extra help with her speech and communication skills. I'm so grateful for this program and that she was eligible to get in because she needs help that I don't know how to give her. Also, we have some other news that I'm still nervous about which is....... Jared is the new President of Young Mens! We were really shocked because we've only been in this ward for a few months and still don't know anyone really. I guess Heavenly Father thinks Jared and I are ready for this responsibility. And when I say Jared and I, I mean they are taking my husband away alot for meetings, mutuals, camp outs, and other things so I'm gonna have to step up as a wife and mother. I guess I'll get a glimpse of being a single mom. Wish me luck!!

Summer Fun!!

Picture Galore!! These are all the pictures from this summer. We went to the zoo in June... Yes we are crazy but it was super fun! My mom rented a water slide a few times this summer and Skye loved every minute of it. As long as she had her floaty she had no fear going down a huge slide. We also got to go to the lake with Jareds brother and his family and it was awesome. It took Bree a little while to get use to the life jacket but was soon swimming with her daddy. Lastly, we went to San Diego and went to Sea World. We did the tea cups which I got sick after 2 seconds of spinning. Ha ha I'm a wimp! Jared took Skye on the Elmo plane ride while Bree and I played on the playground. This summer was one of the best summers because the girls were able to do more stuff but I'm sooo done with the heat. I'm ready for fall and Halloween and the holidays!!!

We got to go to San Diego with some of our friends and family on the same weekend of mine and Jared 5 year anniversay. Did I just say 5!?! Wow.... Crazy!!! We had so much fun just relaxing in the most bi-polar weather ever. Seriously, one minute its super hot on the beach and then it was freezing the next. Oh well, still awesome. I also figured out that my face no longer tans... I just get more freckles!

These girls keep me going 100 mph thats for sure! Skye looks a lot like me but has Jared's personality. She is very sensitive, loves to snuggle, and smells everything. Bree looks a lot like Jared but has more of my personality. She is a hand full!! She does not like it when people get into her face, she will start swinging. She hates being snuggled, she is constantly moving--she wont even eat in her highchair, I have to feed her while she is running everywhere. It's gonna be interesting when they are teenagers. Anyway... These girls are AWESOME! I'm so grateful they are my baby girls!

This little miss thang decided to turn 3 on March 31st and we had a Princess party for her. She was in princess heaven thats for sure! A few things you MUST know about Skye is:

1. She smells, then licks and then takes a bite of her food... I dont know where she gets her weird eating habits from :)

2. When someone sneezes she asks " Are you okay?"

3. She loves to snuggle

4. If someone gets hurt she is the first to see if that person is okay and will kiss it better

5. She would rather wear a pretty dress then jeans and a shirt anyday... This is so weird to me!

6. She waves and says hi to everybody at the grocery store... This causes alot of old people to stop and talk to her which makes my time at the store so much longer

Hello Peeps!! My computer finally got fixed (yay)! Nothing too exciting is happening in our lives. Just living day by day..... A lot of good, but some bad days ;) Happy Birthday to my baby girl Bree (yesterday) she turned 1. Some people say that it goes by so fast but this last year was at a pretty good pace I think. Skye is still not potty trained thanks to her impatient mother.. Yes, Skye has been ready for almost a year but I keep on putting it off because I rather change a diaper than cleaning up poopy messes all over the house. But, I'm finally gonna start training her because she turns 3 in March and its just time for me to growup and have some patience. Jared and I finally went snowboarding after a 4 year break. We planned this awesome trip with our good friends Brad and Brigit and it was going good until Jared sprained his ankle getting off the lift. Did I mention that it was only the second run of the day!?! It was like 10 am and we paid for an all day pass. LAME!! So, Jared kicked it in the lodge and the car watching movies. Poor guy. Anyway, hopefully I will be a better blogger and update more... Enjoy the pics!

Christmas was a little different this year for us. Bree had a double ear infection and double pink eye so Jared and I took turns staying home with her while the other took Skye to the grandparents house. Her eyes were so swollen it was so sad to see her like that. Poor girl!! Other than that it was a pretty good Christmas. Skye got EVERYTHING Cinderella. I'm talking.... blankets, pajamas, books, toys, and even a Cinderella watch. She was in princess heaven thats for sure. Well we hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!

It's Christmas time!! Woo hoo!! Nothing too exciting. I did get a couple of kids to babysit during the week which is a huge blessing even if it does get crazy during the day. Bree will be 10 months old on the 12 and she has 8 teeth and can take 2 steps all by herself. She is the happiest kid in the world! Skye is in love with Cinderella, dresses, shoes, necklaces, and makeup. It is so funny to me how much of a girly girl she is because I am so not a girly girl... I never was. I love it though, I'm kind of glad she is more of a girly girl ;)

Finally decided to stop being lazy and post about my FABULOUS life!! A few new things happening in our life. First off-- Jared no longer wants to be a court reporter. After a 1 1/2 years of court reporting school he no longer wants to do it. So, he's going to be a freshman at MCC starting next semester and work towards his bach. in Business Managment. FUN FUN!! I finished Real Estate school a few weeks ago and am now trying to pass the test. Not gonna lie... Tougher than I thought it was gonna be but I will pass it, even if I have to take it 50 times. Can't wait to become a Real Estate Agent! Anyways, onto the girls. Skye is just a funny girl. When we start backing out of the driveway she says "Bye house" and then when I took her out of the bath tub she say "Bye water". Come on, you have to admit that's funny stuff. Ok, I guess I'm just easily entertained. So, last week I tried potty training Skye. Ya, lasted 2 days. I gave up!! Potty training should not be the end of the world but to Skye it was. I'm gonna try when she's a little older. Bree is 6 months old is standing and crawling like crazy. I am constantly on the move with these 2 girls. I love it! (most days) ;)

First off-- Happy Anniversary to Us!! 4 years and still going strong!

I'm not gonna be lame and say how much I love Jared and what I love about him. I'm just gonna tell you a few things that I've learned about Jared through the years.

#1. He has to wash his feet before he goes to bed...even after he already took a shower that night.

Bree's blessing was today and it was beautiful. She didn't even cry--Nice!! I'm so grateful that Jared is a worthy priesthood holder and that he has the power to bless our little family. Also, my little brother was able to be apart of the circle which was pretty special since he's living on his mission in a few months. Thank you to all my family for being apart of this special day!

Skye and Bree would not cut me some slack today. I put them down for naps like I do everyday but for some reason they weren't having it. I put Bree in her crib and Skye in her bed and I go lay down to take a nap. 5 minutes later I hear Skye playing with her toys. I put her back on her bed and tell her she's needs to go "night-night". (love baby talk) I go lay down again when a few minutes later Bree starts crying. I get up to feed her a couple more ounces and put her in her swing to see if she'll sleep in that for a little while. I then go lay back down for about 10 min when Skye starts kicking the wall. I get up AGAIN and tell her to knock it off and go to bed. Lay back down and then Bree starts crying. I'm laying in bed shaking my head and finally get up to see if I can rock her to sleep. I put her back in her crib and luckily she stayed asleep but as I'm walking in my room to take my much needed nap Skye starts pounding on her door. I put her back on her bed, snuggled with her for a few minutes, and went and layed down. 10 min later Skye starts kicking the wall again. Seriously!?! I go get Skye, take her in the living room, turn on 101 Dalmations and went and layed back down. I totally gave up on trying to get Skye to sleep. I got to take about a twenty minute nap when I randomly woke up because it was just way too quite. I get up to go see what Skye was doing and sure enough she was playing in Bree's formula which was all over my kitchen counters, floors, and she dragged it into my living room all over my couches and carpet. OMG!!! Skye managed to get her toy chair and drag it into the kitchen and lean it against the counter so she could reach the formula. I gave Skye
"the look" and she just starts smiling. Oooh-- that girl is a punk. Anyway, I vaccuumed all the formula and sure enough Bree wakes up from the noise. So peeps-- I'm freaken tired! My husband did put me in a good mood when he called and said that I sounded really tired and asked if he could bring home dinner. Thank you honey!!

A few things about Bree....

** This girl is 2 months old and can already roll over--No joke

** We figured out why she had to be held all the time.. She was a very gasy baby so we changed her formula and she can now kick it in her swing and does not have to be held the majority of the day;)

** Her bedtime is 9pm-5am I then feed her and then she sleeps for another 3 hours. This is pure bliss!!

** Has one dimple in her left cheek.

** HATES baths with a passion!

** Has blue eyes

It just amazes me that I now have 2 kids. When I was younger I never had a real strong desire to be a mom because I thought you had to like to cook, clean, scrapbook, and be a girly girl. Let's be honest... I am not exactly the girliest girl out there! Ha ha After I got married it just hit me one day how bad I wanted to be a mom and knew that's what I wanted more than anything. I'm so grateful that I am able to have babies and I chose to get married in the temple so I can be with my husband and babies forever! Some days are harder than others and sometimes I wish I had zero responsibility but at the end of the day and I go peek at my sleeping girls how happy I am to be a mom.

Skye turned 2 on March 31st and we had a fun but really windy birthday party at the park. Ya, I should have checked the forecast... Plates, presents, napkins, pizza boxes, were scattered everywhere! I vote on Peter Piper for her 3rd!! We also had a fun Easter with lots of food and easter eggs. Hope everybody had a good Easter weekend!

With a new born, I feel like Skye has been kind of neglected. When Bree is awake, she has to be held the whole time or she'll cry hysterically. So, when Skye wants my attention when Bree is awake she doesn't really get my full attention and I feel so bad. This post is mostly about Skye. Love you my baby girl!! I'm still trying to figure out how to juggle two kids.

We are back!! So, we went to the hospital around 1:30 friday morning, got my wonderful epidural around 2 am, and pushed once to welcome Bree at 9:10 am. Not gonna lie, this was a pretty nice/easy delivery. I didn't get a family picture at the hospital like I wanted because Skye wanted nothing to do with me or her baby sister. We tried to get Skye to hold Bree but she kept pushing her away. I tried to hug Skye and give her a kiss but she was scared of my I.V. Not exactly how I wanted the first reaction to be but Skye finally got use to her sister and now I can't get her away from her! I'm still in disbelief that I now have 2 beautiful daughters. I'm in love!!!

Ok peeps!!! I guess my mother intuiton doesn't work because I said I felt she'll be here already but I guess the big man upstairs did not agree with this. So, I had another dr. appt and I'm now dilated 3 cm and still 80% effaced. More progress, Yay! Anyway, I would like everyone to guess when I'll have this baby and what you think she will weigh. My due date is Feb. 19. Thanks everyone, cant wait to see what you guys think!!

Well I had my Dr. appointment yesterday and I'm 1 cm and 80% effaced. A little progress! Also, today I lost my mucas plug. TMI! Sorry about that! Anyway, this baby is well on her way we just don't know exactly when. My Dr. says she can come in 2 days or 2 weeks it just depends. I kind of have a feeling she will be here some time late next week. I guess we'll find out! Watch, she'll actually wait to come until my due date. Which is totally fine, I'm just getting really anxious to hold her and smell her!

Being pregnant you can't really do alot of things that you want or have done. I've grown up in a very active family and it's tough for me just watching on the sidelines. I even had to turn down playing on a softball league:( I'm not a huge fan of being pregnant but I am grateful that I can experience it and have beautiful kids. I do miss doing all of those active things but it will all be worth it sitting on the sidelines just to hold my precious baby girl in a few weeks. (Yes, I got teary eyed typing this!)

Big Girl Bed

Since I'm due in a couple of months I decided to try to get Skye use to sleeping in a toddler bed. I found a nice wooden bed on craiglist and painted it black, of course! I was pretty nervous of how she would react to this change but she surprised me and acted like she has always slept in a big girl bed. No crying, no waking up in the middle of the night, nothing! She really has spoiled me rotten. I was nervous that she was going to fall off because she is such a crazy sleeper, but so far so good.

As of yesterday Skye has put 2 words together! I was talking to Jared on the phone and I usually put him on speaker phone so Skye can hear him too. I was about to hang up with him and told Skye to say bye to dad. This is what she said "Ba bye, daddy!" Jared and I were so excited it's ridiculous.

One week at a time!

Well, I just got back from the hospital.... So, about a week ago I was having shooting pains in my stomach and random contractions. We weren't sure if these were actual contractions or braxton hicks. We debated calling my doctor since it was late at night and finally decided to just wait another day and see what happens. Nothing was happening, no more contractions or shooting pains so I never went to the doctors. Well, today around 6 pm I was making Skye dinner when all of a sudden water just started pouring down my leg and I couldn't stop it. This was very weird to me because I have never just lost control of my bladder while being pregnant. I call the doctor and they said to come in NOW to make sure my water hasn't broke since I'm only 28 weeks. I go in, they monitor the baby and thankfully my water didn't break. I guess the baby was right on my bladder and made me pee my pants! Anyway, so that was a relief but on another serious note I'm 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced. What!?! I still have 10 more weeks. I can't be 60% effaced and dilating already. Since I wasn't contracting and the baby is doing good they sent me home. If I was contracting they would have stopped it but since I wasn't they couldn't really do anything. So, they said take it easy, put my feet up, lay on my left side, and drink lots of fluids. I'm really kicking myself for not going to the hospital last week. Stupid me was trying to tough it out thinking it was nothing when I was really in preterm labor. I don't know when this baby is coming and being 60% effaced already and still have 3 months left I feel she is gonna come earlier than planned. I'm going to do everything in my power to keep this baby inside me and to keep myself sane I'm just gonna take it week at time. The more weeks I carry this baby the healthier she will be. I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty scared but I can do this!

Bad Morning

I haven't had a bad day (morning) in a pretty long time until today and it's only 8:30 AM! My bad day doesn't even compare to other people's bad day but I'm going to complain anyways. I woke up trying to figure out who would watch Skye while I go to school because my MIL usually watches her but tells me that her son has strep throat. If you didn't know this at all I carry the strep virus and if I go anywhere near someone who has strep or the place I catch it really easy and I carry it for 2 weeks. So, I wasn't even going to chance it. Anyway, I get up, get ready, feed Skye, feed myself, and was going to call a girl in my ward to watch Skye. I started looking for my phone. Yep, couldn't find it anywhere. Then I remembered I left it in the car. Went to go get the keys. Yep, couldn't find my keys either. Then I realized I left my keys in the car in Skye's diaper bag which I also left in the car. I also need to mention that I don't have a house phone. Now I'm really getting frustrated because I really needed to go to class today because I need to take notes and my teacher is going to give out a project today. So, I'm stranded at home, can't call Jared or anyone to save me, and then I realized that Jared forgot to put out the recycling bin. Here's another thing about me..... I hate it when my husband forgets to put out the bins!! Especially when he forgot to last week and our bin has been overflowing for 2 weeks now. (don't worry, I put it out even though I hate, hate doing it) Frustrated, and on the verge of crying I go lay on my couch wallowing in my self-pity when Skye comes up to me, rubs my cheek and gives me a big kiss on my cheek. It was the sweetest thing ever!! Thank you Skye, you made mom feel so much better!

** Yes, I know this is not a big deal but I'm pregnant and very hormonal!! That's all I have to say! **

Halloween

Skye was a "Sassy Kitty Cat" for Halloween. When we went to a house she picked a piece of candy put it in her pumpkin and went back up and kept doing it. I would try to pick her up and leave the house but she put up a fight. She was for sure Sassy! All day I tried to teach her to say "trick or treat" but got "teeth" instead. Ha ha close enough. Yes, my child is standing on a tall stool because that was the only way we could get a picture of her. I was right by her as my mom was taking the picture I promise! We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!

We got to go to Freestone Park to celebrate my brother-n-laws 9th birthday. Yes, I have a brother-n-law who is 9! Anyway, Skye hung out with her cousins, went on her first carousal/train ride, and went fishing. When it was time to leave I swear she acted like I was beating her or something. Skye started nursery last sunday!! Seriously, it was like Christmas morning. Jared and I both have callings and it was just getting too hard and exhausting to get her to sit on our laps for like 5 minutes. It is awesome that she gets to go to her own class and we get to finally pay attention to our lessons. She didn't cry when we dropped her off. She went straight to a kid and started playing with him. So Stinkin Cute! You know how alot of parents take pictures of their first day of school well this is Skye's 1st day of Nursery! Also, another exciting news is.... I can now finally put her mullet into pigtails! Thank you sista for showing me how. I'm still getting this whole girly thing down ;)

It's a.........

Just found out that we are having another precious baby girl! Not gonna lie, I was a little shocked. I've had dreams that it was a boy. I guess that doesn't really matter. After the shock wore off we are both so excited especially that Skye will have a sister close in age. That could either be really good down the road like talk about boys and clothes or it could be bad and they will fight about boys and who stole who's clothes. Can't wait!!!

I got a much needed haircut yesterday..... Love it!! Jared... not so much. He doesn't really dig short hair. Oh well!! I was trying to grow my hair out but I just couldn't stand it anymore. It took me forever to blow dry my hair and then straighten it. So, I texted Tiffany and told her that we are chopping it off. Thanks Tiff!

This last week or so Skye has just been talking up a storm. She can say: tank to (thank you), cow, eeeese (please), dad, mom, bye, hi, doggy, and her new word as of tonight is poo poo. Whenever she has a poopy diaper I always say "Do you have a poo poo for mama?" I'm assuming she finally picked up on that. Anyway, she's in the bathtub just playing when all of a sudden she looks straight at me, points to her bum and says poo poo. I'm like good job Skye you said another word. Seriously 1 minute later she poops in the bathtub! Did my baby just warn me that she had to go poop!?! Yep, she totally did. I totally rather have her poop in the bath tub than smearing all over her and her crib! "Skye, it's never a dull moment with you." I love it!

Jared got home from work just in time to read Skye a bedtime story. Ahh, precious!

Everybody says Skye looks so much like me but I totally see some of Jared in her. I think she's a good match between the both of us.

Mother like Daughter

Some of you who have known me all my life knows that I was a thumb sucker. I sucked my thumb until I was about 9 and the only way my parents got me to stop was to take me to a dentist who cemented a retainer on the roof of my mouth. Well thanks to my thumb sucking I had really, really messed up teeth. (I'm so glad I had braces!) Well, it looks like my daughter is down the same path. I took Skye to her Dr. appointment and she looked at her teeth telling me that I have to take her pacifier away fast because it's ruining her teeth. I told her that I actually have never given her one not even as a new born but she has sucked her thumb since 2 months old. Ya, so riddle me this doc. How am I gonna take her thumb away? Cut it off!?!

You can kind of see that her teeth aren't the straightest but she'll lose them eventually! I'm just hoping the second set come in straight! Maybe I should start a braces fund just in case!!

Yes my almost 16 month old is wearing a onesie. Reason being.... She knows how to take her pants and diapers off! We had another espisode last week of Skye smearing poop all over her crib, wall, body, face, etc. So, my sister was kind enough to buy her some onesie's. Thanks sista! I personally do not like onesies but it gets the job done.

Skye loves to put anything and everything around her neck. I'm talking, socks, shirts, shorts, blankets. It's so funny!

Ah, I love that Skye's hair automatically flips under. I don't know where she gets her hair from. My hair believe it or not is curly and Jared has wavy hair. She has straight hair. It's a mystery!

We have confirmation on baby #2. Woo hoo! I love hearing the heart beat. It makes me feel so much better knowing my little peanut is doing great. I personally think it is going to be a boy. We shall see!

We went to Payson a couple of weeks ago just to get out of the heat. It's amazing how 2 hours can make a difference in the climate. All I have to say is that I'm soooo glad that Skye can walk! It makes these kind of trips worth going. Skye loved every minute of it. Especially the quad and car. She finally figured out that you have to push the button to go. Those things kept her entertained most of the trip. Good investment mama!

The other day I hear this clicking sound coming from Skye so I go see what she was doing and she saw me and all of a sudden spits out a penny. I don't know where she keeps finding all this change! I swear she probably has already found about 2 bucks in change. So, today I tried to teach Skye if she finds pennies she needs to put it in our change bucket. She tried to sneak one penny in her mouth but I was there to put a stop to it real quick. Other than that she got the hang of it. Good job baby girl!

I usually let Skye feed herself and this is what the end results usually are. Anyway, I had to go somewhere and I was gonna feed Skye myself so she didn't get all messy before we left so I didn't have to give her bath and get her all ready again. Well, she was not having it. I tried to feed her with the spoon and she kept arching her back and shaking her head. After about 5 min of this I just let her feed herself and of course this is what happened. She just wants to do everything herself. I hope she's still wants to be miss independent when this baby comes! Again, crossing my fingers!

Today was Skye's first swim lessons and she did awesome. She didn't cry at all but she did make another baby cry by splashing her, ya sorry about that kid! At the lesson today we tried to teach the kids to blow bubbles in the water but Skye just kept drinking the water. Funny girl! Also, Skye is walking so good now. She doesn't even crawl anymore. Also, her new trick is.... she can bark like a dog. It is so stinkin cute!

My little brother Bubba graduated from highschool today!! It rained the whole time and it just so happened that I wore a white shirt--I don't know what I was thinking! This was my parents 5th and last kid to graduate from Mesa High so my parents got to sit on the field and get recognized. I bet they are so excited to be done with the whole highschool scene! Anyway, Congrats Bubbs!!

She was so out of it--She didn't even flinch when the light flashed. A couple of nights ago she woke up like at 3 am crying, so I go in there and she is stuck between the crib bars. She was trying to get out but her thighs were to big! It's funny now when I think about it but at 3 am I was not too amused! It's so funny how she could end up with her feet sticking out of the crib. Random Story: I was waiting in line at the grocery store with Skye just looking around when I kept noticing this old lady behind me was giving me a really weird look. I kind of glance at her and give her a half smile. I guess she felt like that was the oppurtunity to "talk" to me.

Old Lady: Is this your baby? (with a weird look)
Me: Yes she is.
Old Lady: Oh, I can never tell these days.
Me: Oh ya, why do you say that? (being really nice)
Old Lady: Well, I wasn't sure if she was yours or your baby sister. I was hoping she was your baby sister.
Me: Um....nope, she's mine. (really confused)
Old Lady: You should be embarrassed of yourself. Bringing this innocent child into this world!(shaking her head)

Old Lady: You just don't have any shame do you? You 16 yr old just go parading around in almost nothing just asking for it from any boy! I bet you don't even know who the father is! Yesterday was Skye's 12 month appointment and here are her stats....

Height: 29 1/2 inches

Weight: 20 lbs

Skye has a couple of new tricks that she learned in the last couple of weeks. She knows how to "roll it" (from the patty cake song) and she can also do "peek-a-boo" but instead of covering her eyes she covers her ears... she cracks me up! Her new word is: Mom! It's so funny, I'll be in the other room and she'll say "mom" 5 times until I come get her. It sounds a lot like the seagulls from Finding Nemo who say "mine." Moving on.... Skye hates baby food. I pull out a jar and she starts shaking her head and pushes the spoon away. So, now I HAVE to cook! If you didn't know this already, I HATE COOKING!! I also suck at it. She pretty much eats what Jared and I eat. Skye still doesn't walk. She can take one step with her right leg, but has a very hard time getting her left leg to move. You can tell that she really wants to walk because she'll stand for a long time and reach for stuff and her top half of her body bends, but her feet don't move. I'm sure it's frustrating for her, but for some reason her brain and body are just not listening to each other right now. One last thing.... Skye got her first haircut! I know what everyone is thinking, "Um, Skye doesn't have any hair to cut." Not on the top she doesn't, but Skye had an awesome mullet. Thank you, Tiffany, for saving my child from any further humiliation!

Ok guys, get your mind out of the gutter. Let me tell you the story first then you'll understand the title. Anyway, this last year or so Jared has been acting out his dreams. For example, he had a dream about 7 months ago that he was fighting this guy and he went to kick him in his dream, but really he kicks me, hard!
Me: (in shock) Jared, what's your problem? That freaken hurt!
Jared: Oh my gosh, honey, I'm so sorry! Are you ok?
Me: You just kicked me really hard, why would you do that?
Jared: I was fighting this guy in my dream, I guess I did it in my sleep.
Me: I can't believe that just happened! You kicked me! (still in shock)
Jared: I honestly didn't mean to, I can't help what I dream about.
Me: I know, I just can't believe you did that.

That was the first time he acted out his dream. The 2nd time I woke up to him about to tackle me. Lucky for me he woke up before he did tackle me. He said that he was dreaming about playing football and he was going to tackle this guy that was making him mad. The 3rd time was a couple of months ago and in his dream he got into another fight. Well, guess what, he punches me! This time I wasn't as nice, so I punched him back. (ok, I swear we do not have an abusive relationship) I tell him that I'm not feeling safe sleeping with him anymore and maybe we need to get this checked out. Which sounds so strange, but if you were me, the one getting hit in the middle of the night, wouldn't you consider it too? Well, everything was fine, he hasn't acted out his dreams in a few months until last night. I wake up to him punching the air. I'm like, "crap not again," and I move away from him so he doesn't start swinging at me. I yell his name a couple of times until he wakes up and stops punching the air. When he wakes up he's like "why are you out of bed?" I reply, "So you won't hit me. What were you dreaming about?" He said that he was punching a wall down.
As strange as this sounds I'm really considering not sleeping in the same bed with him anymore. I know it's not his fault and he can't help it, but I really don't like getting hit in the middle of the night. He also hits hard, too. So, people, what should I do? What if he has a dream that he's choking someone or something really bad? It's a really weird situation that I don't know exactly what to do. What would you do?

A few days ago Skye has learned to shake her head whenever I tell her "no" because that's what I do when I tell her no, I shake my head. So, now when I say it she looks at me and shakes her head. It is so stinkin cute. Anyway, I tried to get her to do it but she was not cooperating but I did get her to kind of say bye bye and wave bye bye. She learned this like last week! These new tricks have been the highlight of my day. Oh, the excitement of being a mom!

Update on Skye's kidneys: We went to the hospital where they did a kidney ultrasound and a VCUG. These 2 things help figure out what her bladder and kidney are doing basically. After 4 very long hours they told me that she has a kidney reflux which means her urine is backing up into both of her kidneys. This causes bacteria which turns into kidney infections. They sent her paper work to her doctor, who called me a couple of days later saying that she has a level 3 reflux. (Out of 5) Since it's more in the middle we have to go see a Urologist to see if she has to get surgery or not. As of right now, Skye is on antibiotics to fight the bacteria that is constantly going into her kidneys from her urine. They said if she doesn't need surgery than she will be on this antibiotic until she grows out of it, which won't be until she's around 4 yrs. old. Ya, Skye will be on antibiotics everyday for at least 3 years! If she does not take antibiotics or have surgery she will get multiple kidney infections from now until 4 yrs. old. From these kidney infections Skye will have a very high rish of kidney failure by the age of 5. Um, ya, I just learned all of this today! I feel soooo bad for Skye. She's so happy and looks normal on the outside but she is constantly fighting bacteria thats ruining her kidneys in the inside. I'm trying not to think of Skye not being able to have a normal life with kidney failure at 5 yrs. old. I do not want Skye to have to go through this, but I know everything will be fine. I keep telling myself that it could be way, way, worse and be grateful that she doesn't have a life threatning disease. Anyway, I'll know more after we see the Urologist and hopefully they can help my baby girl!

New Couches!

We finally got new couches. Thank you tax return!! Our other couches we got from my sister when we got married which was much appreciated but we decided after almost 3 years of having them we deserved some new ones. I've always wanted black, leather couches but we got an awesome deal on this sectional which is so comfortable so we voted for this one. We love it!

On tuesday, Skye had a very big surprise for me. I'm blaming this on her dad because he was the one who "changed her diaper". Anyway, it was a tuesday morning and I'm laying in bed complaining that I have to go to school. I hear Skye finally wake up and I look at Jared telling him I would give him a million dollars if he fed her and changed her diaper before he went to school. Of course my loving husband does what I asked and went to school. When I get ready for school I usually put her in her crib to play so I can get ready without her crawling all over me. So, I finish getting ready and go get Skye ready to take to the babysitter. As I'm walking towards her room you could totally smell her poopy diaper. So, I'm like preparing myself to change a smelly diaper but walked into a poopy daughter. Yes, my daughter was covered in poop!! I'm talking in her hair, ears, hands, legs, stomach, face, etc... It was so disgusting. Well, I get closer to her crib and her diaper is on the other side of her crib with poop smeared all over her sheets and blanket. Some how my 10 month old took her diaper off!! All of you are wondering why she's in her crib with no pants on or anything---okay I'll tell you why, because my husband is a genius! He put her in her crib with just her diaper on which gave her easy access to grab the sides and rip them off. So, Skye is standing in her crib smiling like nothing is wrong with poop smeared all over her. It was the funniest but most disgusting thing I've seen in my life.

Skye here--- Yesterday was my 10 month mark and my mom got a little teary eyed about me turning 1 in a couple of months. It's okay mom I'm still your baby girl! My mom tells me that she never used to be this emotional until she had me. Ya, whatever helps you sleep at night. Anyway, I have 2 bottom teeth and my top ones are coming in, so watch where you're putting your fingers! I can stand all by myself with no help from the wall, couch, toys, etc. for about 5 seconds and then decide I rather sit and crawl around. I'm feeling much better from my kidney infection but I have to go in on Feb 11 to get an ultrasound on my kidneys just to make sure everything is 100%. One last thing... Mom, I'm sorry for almost swallowing a nail today. I will never do it again!! I hope everyone has fun watching the Super Bowl. GO CARDINALS!!

Since Skye turns 1 in a couple of months I thought this would be fun so I won't forget some things about my pregnancy with her.

My Pregnancy with Skye!!!

1. Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? I was in my bathroom at my apartment.

2. Who was with you? I was all by myself until I called my friend Brigit to make sure my eyes were not decieving me.

3. How did you find you were pregnant? Well, I was 8 days late, which is not normal for me, so I knew in the back of my head I was and also the 3 pregnancy tests were very reassuring.

4. What was your first reaction finding out you were pregnant? I started to cry! (out of joy, I promise) I was starting to think we weren't able to have kids

5. Your husbands reaction? I told him on the phone and he was shouting to complete strangers that he was going to be a daddy.

6. Who was the first person you told? I told Brigit to come over to make sure the test really was positive and then I called Jared, who was at the shooting range with his friend.

7. Did you plan to get pregnant? Yes, It took us a year to get pregnant-I was starting to get worried!

8. Did you go out and celebrate? Yep, we went to Texas Road House, yum!

9. Did you want to find out the sex of the baby when you were pregnant? For sure, I have no patience so I was wanting to find out the second I got pregnant.

10. How much weight did you gain? I gained 26 lbs

11. Did you get any stretch marks? I did get some on my boobs and ZERO on my stomach, hopefully it's like with all my pregnancies (crossing my fingers)

12. What did you crave the most? The only thing I craved was Top Ramon and that was only for a couple of weeks

13. What made you feel sick? I couldn't cook ANY meat. Chicken, hamburger, beef, etc. Jared had to cook it and when he did I would have to leave the house until it was completely cooked and the smell was out of my house-- which is funny because I could still eat it just not cook it.

14. Did you have any complications with the pregnancy? Nope, I was pretty lucky.

15. Where were you when you went into labor? I was at home, my contractions just started out of no where and were 2 min. apart.

16. Did you go early or late? I was 2 weeks early! That was awesome! My due date was April 15, but had her on March 31

17. Who was in the room when you delivered? Just my husband, I kicked my mom out. Sorry mom, you know I love you

18. Did you have any drugs for the pain? Oh ya! I soooo asked, I mean begged for an epidural!

19. What was your reaction AFTER you gave birth? Holy Crap, my kid has a huge, white, cone head!!

20. How big was your baby? 6 lbs 15 oz 19.5 inches

21. What did you name the baby? Skye Lynn

22. Did the name have any significance to you? Not really. I was just playing around writing names down that I liked with our last night and I wrote down Skylar and I kind of liked it but not for a girl. So, I was like what if I just named her Skye to sound more girly. I told my husband and he said it was really cute. So, Skye it was. The middle name was hard because I couldn't find a name to go smoothly with her first and last name. We finally decided to use my middle name which is Lynn. My family gave me such a hard time about her name but I love it! Ya, and this is coming from people who named me Shawna for heavens sake!!

23. How old is your baby now? 10 months

24. When is the next one coming? I don't really know! I guess whenever the big man upstairs says it's time.

25. If you could would you do it all over again? Totally!!!

So me, Jared, and Skye were in the elevator on the cruise with people from a different country. I just assume this because of their heavy accents. Anyway, Skye is in her stroller and everyone is just asking me how old my baby is, and how my baby is doing on the cruise. They never really said he or she, which is fine. Well, this one lady looks at me and says "Oh, you got HIS ears peirced!?!" (with a very weird expression on her face) I look at her pretty much like she is the dumbest person alive! (I know, I'm a brat sometimes) I say to her "Um, no I would never get my sons ear peirced but I did get my DAUGHTERS ear done!" She kind of giggles and apologizes and I walk off the elevator shaking my head. Like, seriously people, common sense!! I've learned to never assume a baby is a he or a she just so I'm not as dumb as that lady. I know this is kind of random but I just wanted to share! Did I mention that I so want Skye to have long, long hair!?! I can't wait when she does!

If you could turn back the hands of time what 3 things do you wish you could have done differently in highschool???

1. If I could go back to good ole mesa high I would have been way more outgoing and fun. I was one of those people who was so scared of what people were thinking or saying about me. So, I tried to lay low and didn't really show my fun self all through highschool. Ya I know--So Stupid!

2. I wish I went to more football games and basketball games. I think I only went to like one football game because I had to go with my homecoming date. The only basketball game I went to was the championship game--which was awesome.

3. I would have dumped my senior b/f alot sooner. Actually, I would have never gone out with him-- He was freaken crazy! ha ha If I could seriously go back I would have just had a lot of guy friends and go on fun dates, but for some reason I wanted a boyfriend. Wow! I"m so glad highschool is so over!

The Cruise!!

Our cruise was so much fun! Everybody should go on at least one cruise in there life. Thank you so much Sandra for such a wonderful christmas present! We went snorkeling in Cabo, parasailing in Mazatlan (actually I was the only brave one, ha) and zip lined in Puerta Vuerta! um... spell check please. On the cruise we went to very entertaining shows at night like a 70's dance show, a magic show, and watched a comedian. On some nights we had to get all dressed up to eat at the fancy places on the cruise. The other nights we went to the cafe which was very casual. The service was unbelievable! They treat everyone as if we all had a million dollars, it was awesome. These pictures aren't exactly in order but you get the idea of what we did.

Guess where we're going this saturday??? Ok, I'll tell you. We are going on a MEXICAN CRUISE!! Yep, my awesome mother and father-n-law are taking all of their kids and spouses on a cruise for christmas. Talk about an awesome christmas gift! Jared and I have never been on a cruise so we are so excited. Also, Skye even gets to come with us---lucky girl! She is the only grandchild that get's to go because she is too young to be gone from me for 9 days. Ok, she would be fine without me but I cannot be away from my baby girl for that long! Ha ha, so anyway I won't be updating until I get back from the cruise. I'm gonna be taking a hundred pictures so be ready for a really long post when I get back!!! Did I mention that I'm so freaken excited!?!

Skye had her 9 month check up today and as you can see by the picture it went great! I bet Skye was so happy that the doctor didn't have to do any more tests on her! So her weight: 17 lbs 8 oz length: 29 1/2 inches

The doctor said I don't need to come back for her check up until she is 1, so Skye gets a 3 month break from the doctor. Woo hoo!!

Christmas was awesome as usual this year! We got to spend Christmas with both of our families which is always fun. Watching Skye open her presents was my favorite part even though she had no idea what was going on! We hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas as well!!

Ok, we just got back from the doctors and they said Skye has a kidney infection which is bad for a 8 1/2 month old baby. So, in a couple of weeks they are going to do an ultra sound on her kidneys and some other tests to see if her kidneys are functioning the way their supposed to. She's on antibiotics to fight the bacteria but it upsets her stomach so she doesn't sleep very well but her fever is gone. Jared and his dad gave her a blessing and we have a good feeling that Skye is going to be just fine. We just have to wait until the antibiotics get rid of her infection and everything will be back to normal with my baby girl!

We had to take Skye to urgent care last night around 7:00 because she was running a 104 temp. She felt so HOT! The nurses were checking her vitals where they told us her heart beat was way to fast and has a high fever. DUH! Anyway, the doctor came in and asked us a thousand questions where I couldn't answer like any of them because I usually don't pay attention to stuff like if her stomach feels tight. Honestly, who checks their kids stomach if it's tight or not!?! The doctor was concerned that she was running such a high fever when she didn't have an ear infection or any of the other stuff he checked. So, he told us he wanted to x-rays of her chest and stomach. That was the worst thing ever because we had to hold her down so she couldn't move a muscle and she was crying hysterically. They also had to draw blood and get a urine sample where they found bacteria. After 4 hours of this the doctor told us that it was a (really big doctor term that I can't even pronounce) A.K.A a urinary tract infection but more serious! They gave her a shot and told us to do a follow up with our doctor the next day to figure out what exactly is going on with Skye. They said they won't know for sure what it is until her blood work comes back which isn't until tomorrow. I'm praying that they can figure out what exactly the bacteria is and give her something to make it go away. I feel so bad for my baby girl!

Well, we had an AWESOME Thanksgiving and we hope everyone else did too. We went to Jared's parents house first and then went to my parents. All I can say is that I have never eaten so much in my entire life. I loved it!!! My mom also rented a huge bouncer for all the grand kids.... well it was supposed to be just for the kids but we decided to play in it also! Ha ha, anyway Happy Thanksgiving!!!

My uncle Steve lost his battle to pancreatic cancer on Sunday at 4:30 pm. He was an amazing person who could always make you smile. Steve will surely be missed but we know he is in a better place where he is no longer in pain and can watch over his family.

Just a quick update on my sick girl. We got her fever down to 99.3 which is better than 101 but I would like it at 98. She still has a big canker sore on her tongue and it has spread all around the outside of her mouth. Those suckers spread fast. Honestly is was the next morning that she got a big canker sore right on her upper lip and 2 on her chin. I feel so bad for her. I'm a little nervous about this because we're going to Mexico tomorrow and camping on the beach. So no urgent care, doctors, and hospitals. Seriously out of all the weeks she could have got sick, she gets sick the week we go on vacation! Come on! Anyway, we asked the doctor if it was okay to go and he said that canker sore's are a virus and she has to get rid of it herself... so basically no medicine to get rid of it, just stuff to numb it so she can eat. He told us to also take tylenol to keep her fever down and to keep her hydrated. If we do this Skye should be fine. So I'm crossing my fingers and praying that Skye will feel ok and that her canker sores won't spread even more or hurt her.

Today we had to take Skye to urgent care because she has been running a fever for the last couple of days and we also found a big, white bump on Skye's tongue. I don't know about you guys, but I thought this was the weirdest thing I have ever heard. My 7 month old has herpes! I'm a horrible mom! Ha j/k I thought older people get stuff like that! I guess not! Anyway, he said it was a virus and it will go away after about 7-10 days. We just have to keep her hydrated, which is really hard when she has a huge sore on her tongue and she doesn't want her bottle touching her tongue. So, he gave us some stuff that numbs her mouth so she can eat. We feel really bad for her because she's been so fussy and we know she's in pain. As a mom I hate seeing my baby in pain and not feeling good. All I can say is, "thank goodness for tylenol and urgent care."

We all know that life can get crazy busy with everything that needs to get done. There's the grocery shopping, laundry, dishes, running errands, trying to make dinner when your baby wants all of your attention, helping your husband study for tests....... you get the idea. Busy, busy, busy!! Sometimes you just need to take a full day and sit back and relax. That's exactly what me and Skye did!! It was very refreshing. So I challenge everyone to just take 1 day out of your crazy, busy life and just relax. The laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, errands and whatever can wait until tomorrow!

This is how she wakes up in the morning and from her naps! She is always laughing and smiling. She really is just the happiest kid ever. She smiles at everyone. I can't even tell you how many times I get stopped at the grocery store by old people telling me how happy she is because she smiles at them. I really hope she's like this when she gets older!! (Crossing my fingers)

I'm a couple of weeks late on Skye's 6 month checkup because we switched to a new insurance and it took awhile to get our cards. Well we finally got our cards and took Skye to get her shots and her check-up done and here are the results...... Weight: 16 lbs 3 oz Length: 27 inches and her head is normal;) The doctor said that we have a tall child. Um..... me and Jared are not tall so I have no idea where she gets it from!! Ha so anyway, Skye no longer does the army crawl and full out does a REAL baby crawl. I usually put her in the living room but she then ends up in the kitchen, or the bathroom. Her 1 bottom tooth finally came in and it is freaken sharp. (I'm so glad I'm not breastfeeding--Ouch!) Her other bottom tooth is still trying to break through. We've been feeding her more fruits and vegetables-----we're still trying to find one she likes. Her hair is getting to the point where it just sticks straight up and it's so thin I can't do ANYTHING with it. I'm so thankful for headbands. That's it for now, I just want to thank everyone for your comments and help!!

So I go into Skye's room to get her up from her nap and this is how I found her...........

I could not believe that my 6 month old was STANDING in her crib. She is just learning how to do the army crawl! So now I get to lower her mattress so she doesn't fall out. It really is crazy how one day they just pick up on something. Like she can now sit up by herself without my help when like last week she kept falling sideways. Also we just discovered that Skye's 2 bottom teeth are coming in. I thought they come in 1 tooth at a time?? Skye just needs to stop growing up for awhile! I don't think thats to much to ask!

As of Monday September 29, Jared and I decided to stop drinking soda! I know this comes as a shock for you all but we have a very good reason. her Nike onesies. The reason being..... she has like 6 different color Nike onesies and their

actually her pajamas and I usually take pictures right before her bedtime when Jared's home.
